FBI Apostille and Background Check

An Apostille is a certificate issued by a designated authority such as the US Department of State or the Secretary of a State certifying your personal and commercial documents.

We submit documents to the Secretary of State for Apostille Services. Some documents will need to be notarized and verified with the county clerk’s office before certification with the Secretary of State can be completed. State issued documents that have an authorizing signature and state seal do not need notarization before being apostilled.
Same day service and expedited services are available, for some states, for an additional fee.
Authentication Services – US Dept of State
Authentication certificates are for documents to be used in countries that do not participate in the 1961 Hague Convention Treaty. These documents are required to go through an additional authentication process certifying the authenticity of the document before being presented in the country of use.
After obtaining the US Department of State certification, the documents are submitted to the Embassy of the respective country to obtain their authentication stamp.
We submit documents to the Secretary of State for Apostille Services. Apostilles can take up to 4-6 weeks. The Expedited version is completed in 1-2 weeks.
Background Checks
An FBI Background Check is essentially a summary of your criminal history. Also known as a “Rap Sheet”, an FBI Background Check includes a summary of an individual’s criminal history. The information in this report is collected by federal, state, and local law enforcemtn agencies. Although any company may require an FBI Background Check as an employment condition, only you can request a copy of your criminal history from the FBI.
We offer background checks for the FBI, authorized states, financial firms, and any other reasons when it requries a fingerprint capture to be taken. Some states may only have card submissions available while others have electronic live scan fingerprinting available by using our hardware software, and authorized channelers.

Ink/Digital Fingerprints
Fingerprint cards are the traditional method of fingerprint collection. Fingerprints may be captured either by using ink or digitally using our Live Scan device. We use standard FD-258 card stock. Fingerprint card services can be provided on any state-speciifc card stock.
Copy of fingerprint card for new state/application
When additional copies are needed for spearate application or additional states. Example: if you had a state of CT card but now need a copy of your prints for a different state like Utah then the charge would be $25.
Fingerprint Redo
If your fingerprints are rejected for any reason from any state agency, FBI or any other agency, then The Genesis Shop will take another set of fingerprints for free. You must have had your original fingerprints taken from The Genesis Shop to have them redone from us. You will also need to provide us with the rejection letter you received. Thank you.
